This fine rifle was carried by western pioneers
and fur trappers all across the Western states during the mid 1800’s. Styled after rifles made by famous
makers such as the Hawken, Gemmer and Dimick. No other factory assembled rifle offers
the authentic styling that the Lyman “Great
Plains” rifle offers.
Great Plains “Hunter” Rifle: This special model features a 32” barrel
with 1 in 32” twist and shallow groove rifling. This combinations makes it ideal for
shooting the many types of modern projectiles available. This rifle also maintains all of the
other quality features of the “Classic” model such as double set triggers,
separate ramrod entry thimble and nose cap and a reliable coil spring lock. This is
available in .50 left handed
flintlock.
