The French Style Type “C“ or “D” trade gun is a mainstay in the French fur trade. If you’re playing a voyaqeur you need one. We offer “Caywood’s” French style trade guns in a type “C” or “D”. Both are available with a 41” 20 gauge smoothbore barrel
The kit is exactly the same as what is offered as from The semi-finished kit features a 98% in-letted stock, 100% in-letted barrel and lock, pre-drilled holes in the stock for the tang bolt, lock bots, barrel tenons and ramrod thimbles. The barrel tenons are installed and slotted, front sling swivel is installed, front sight installed, the tang bolt hole has been pre-drilled and tapped, the lock bolts holes are tapped and the touch-hole is drilled and coned. Also included is the safety-use manual, bluing solution and stain. While these kits are not the simplest and not the cheapest kits available we feel they are the best and have the potential to be the best functional finished guns on the market. |
