General Rules:

 

  • Turner Hall will not be open for setup until 12:00 noon on Friday.  This is to allow the staff at Turner Hall to prepare the area.

 

·          NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES are to be brought into Turner Hall. Anyone doing so will be asked to leave the trade fair. There is a cash bar available throughout the entire weekend.

 

·          NO pets allowed inside Turner Hall.

 

·          ALL children are required to stay in the show area. Turner Hall is a private club and they do not want children wandering around the building unsupervised. Parents will be held accountable for their children's behavior.

 

·          Smoking is allowed only in designated areas.

 

·          This is a family event, act accordingly.

 

·          No loaded or illegal weapons on Turner Hall property at any time.

 

·          Everyone who is not registered as a trader will be expected to purchase admission to the show.  There will be exceptions based on costume.

 

·          Lights will go out in the trade areas at 10:00pm Friday and Saturday night

 

·          I will have a table available near the front entrance for displaying flyers.

Turner Hall or myself will not be held responsible for accidents of any kind that occur during the show.

Turner Hall or myself will not be held responsible for personal items stolen or damaged during the show.

 


Trader Rules and Regulations:

 

·          All traders must maintain themselves in a courteous and professional way.  Those who do not, or who show blatant disregard for the rules of this event, may be asked to leave the event immediately and will not be invited back.

·          No tailgate sales; no basket sales; all traders will pay a fee.

·          All items offered for sale must be pre-1840 era.

·          All signage, displays racks, shelving, etc. must be pre-1840 style.

·          Credit card signs must be of pre-1840 style and material.

·          No sticky tags, rubber bands or plastic bags should be used in the display of merchandise.  Use canvas or leather scraps.

·          Customers must be 18 years or older to purchase or trade for knives, tomahawks, blades, firearms, clay pipes, tobacco or other smoking-related items.

·          Tapes & CDs are allowed, but you must keep them covered with a sign saying you have the items available.  The sign must be pre-1840 style.

·          Health laws prohibit the sale of some food items that are not packaged.  This is admissible.  If you use plastic or plastic packaging, contact us and we will address this on an individual basis.

·          No screw lid jars or bottles, unless they are covered in fabric.

·          Please notify me in advance if you have prepaid and cannot attend or will be late.  Tables not occupied by 9:30am Saturday morning will be reassigned to someone else.  No refunds will be offered unless I receive advance notice.

·          All tables must be kept open during the public hours. Please notify me if you plan to leave due to emergency or illness.  Failure to comply may result in loss of trading tables for future years.

·          Borrowing or selling trade tables is prohibited. Any empty tables will be assigned to someone on the waiting list.

·          I require that everyone managing, selling or acting in behalf of a trader at a trade table wear pre-1840 costume. Please avoid blue jeans or other inappropriate clothing items.

·          Items displayed or Trade Goods for sale must be pre-1840.  I don’t want to see laminated wood on items, “fantasy” style items, colored feathers, etc.  This also includes firearms cap-n-ball revolvers, cartridge firearms (sharps, hi-walls, trapdoors, etc).  The only exception is to members of the New Ulm Battery.  Most of you know what is considered correct and what it not.  If you have questions please ask me.  Warnings and opportunity for discussion will be given for items that I consider improper. Failure to follow the warnings may lead to forfeiture of your trade table(s). 

 

·          Specific Items that can NOT be sold:

·          No stainless steel items such as knife blades or cooking pans.

·          No aluminum ware, cast ceramics, sheepskin can covers or the like.

·          No laminated knife handles (due to shortage of ivory, micarta is allowable).

·          No boot knives or Pakistan knives of the fantasy nature.

·          No fantasy jewelry or fantasy pewter.  No dragons or wizards.

·          No inline ignition system firearms or those with composite material or stainless barrels.

·          No Baja pullovers with hoods or pockets.

·          No laminated/rubber soled moccasins, cowboy boots (round-toed Wellingtons allowed in black only)

·          No arts or crafts animals.  They must be from the North American continent.

·          No fuzzy animals or dyed rabbits feet.  Natural color okay.  No key chains.

·          No fake fur hats or bags allowed.

·          No zippers, snaps or Velcro on clothing.

·          No buckskin or cloth halter-tops or dance hall dresses to be sold or displayed.

·          No cowboy hats

·          No Chinese ring neck feathers (these are late 1800s)

·          No mandelas or steel-ringed dream catchers.

·          All flags sold or flown must be period correct.

·          No turquoise set in silver, including rings, pendants, bracelets, etc.  Turquoise nuggets strung with silver acceptable.  Hook and ring clasp only allowed.

·          No T-shirts.

·          Wooden or other toys, that resemble original or reproduction functional items such as guns, knives, whips, tomahawks, bows or weapons in general can be displayed but may ONLY be sold to adults.
